Borneo bound

On Tuesday evening we attended a function at Oxted school, organised by a number of students who will be going to Borneo to help build a school in one of the villages. The guest speaker was one of the geography teachers, who gave a detailed account of his trip to Antarctica. The event was well attended and the teacher kept us enthralled with his enthusiastic account. The purpose of the evening was to help raise funds to send the pupils to Borneo and the evening was organised totally by the students. The event was sponsored by three local businesses, Guard-a-kid (, Cotswold Outdoors - suppliers of actionwear for outdoor pursuits ( and WinEntwine, a social network based around wine tasting ( We were pleased to be able to go along to surport them and wish them good luck on their adventure.
